As the sole organizer of a charity marathon in October 2023, I spearheaded a comprehensive promotional campaign. Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I designed a variety of print and digital assets to engage potential participants and raise awareness for Water First, the event's beneficiary. For the marathon run itself, I ran for 24 hours in total with breaks in between over a 2 day period.
Knowing that the hook of the event was the feat I set for myself, I wanted the "24 HOUR RUN" title to be given greater priority over all other text. The contrast between the black background and the bright text and imagery was intentionally striking; enhancing readability and a distinct style across all materials. Additionally, the use of QR codes on the printed poster allowed viewers the convenience of donating or volunteering by simply scanning the advert, contributing to a painless user experience.
The most challenging aspect of this project was ensuring that the essential information was effectively conveyed within the various ad dimensions while maintaining a consistent aesthetic. Through multiple rounds of user testing and peer feedback, I successfully achieved a harmonious balance.
These campaign efforts successfully generated excitement and encouraged participation, ultimately contributing to the success and funds raised for the charity marathon.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Justin Lin, for his invaluable contributions providing the photo of myself used in the promotion's poster design.
